New Dress or Hand Me Down?

Let’s face it.  Fashion changes in the blink of an eye it seems. What’s in today, is out tomorrow, and what was in 20 years ago is new again. Vintage seems to be the trend lately. Many brides are looking for the vintage look. Some are looking for new gowns that are vintage with a modern twist.  Some are looking for actual gowns from the 1940’s, 50’s, and 60’s in cool vintage thrift shops. But let me ask you… Have you checked your mother’s closet? Or how about your grandmother’s closet? Would you wear one of their gowns? What if you could make some modern alterations to that gown to give it your own unique style?

While I’ve found many of my girlfriends say they would never consider wearing their Mother’s Gown.  A few episodes of TLC’s Something Borrowed, Something New definitely gives Mom’s or Grandma’s gown a second glance.
